Sunday to Tuesday – To Dover for the ferry crossing to Calais, then through France to our overnight hotel for a bed and breakfast stay. The next day we make our journey into Spain for our second overnight bed and breakfast stay. Tuesday sees us continue our journey into Portugal to our coastal resort of Figueira da Foz. Ten nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast.

Wednesday to Thursday – Time at leisure to relax and enjoy the marvellous sandy beaches and many sights and attractions in this fabulous resort.

We have a full day which begins with a visit to Ciombra. Once the country’s capital city, Ciombra enjoys a beautiful hillside setting at the foot of the River Mondego and has many monumental buildings and archaeological structures revealing its Roman past. We continue to the scenic Estrella Mountains, with its winding streams and lakes and beautiful thick forests. Being the highest mountain range in Portugal, the range sets itself apart by offering the most magnificent views.

Another full day takes us to Aveiro and Mira. Mira is a superb coastal town with attractions including the Sãn Bento Fountain dedicated to Saint Benedict. Known as the ‘Portugese Venice’, the historic city of Aveiro has fl owing canals and boats running through much like those of the Italian city itself!

Finally you can join us on an optional full day to Leiria and fi shing town of Nazare. Leiria Castle stands proud on the town’s hilltop whilst the old quarter below has its own charm. Nearby, the picturesque seaside village of Nazare has glorious long sandy beaches and a unique atmosphere due to the many traditions which are still thriving.

Friday to Sunday – Sadly it’s time to leave our wonderful resort and retrace our steps into Spain for our overnight bed and breakfast stop. The next morning we continue into France for our last night together, bed and breakfast. On our final day we make our way to Calais for the ferry crossing to Dover and home.
