2011 Isle of Man
|
| Coach holiday - 5 days |
| Just 33 miles long and 13 miles wide, the Isle of Man is a tranquil haven of countryside with its numerous landscapes and breathtaking views. The island may be just a short distance from the British mainland, but it has a unique character which sets it apart and enjoys a relaxed pace of life. Our holiday base is in the capital at Douglas, almost unchanged from Victorian times, with
horse-drawn trams operating along the lovely seafront.

Tour Details
| Day 1 – We travel north to Heysham for the ferry crossing to Douglas and continue on to our hotel where we stay for four nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2 – A full-day excursion takes us to Laxey and Ramsey. On the east coast the picturesque village of Laxey has plenty of unique attractions including the largest working waterwheel in the world ‘The Great Laxey Wheel’, whilst Ramsey in the north offers a busy shopping street and the sunniest spot on the island!
Day 3 – Today we have a day at leisure to enjoy your seafront resort lined with picturesque restaurants, along with a buffet lunch and afternoon entertainment at our hotel. Maybe you’d like to ride along the promenade on a horse-drawn tram, visit the Manx Museum, or take a steam railway journey - either way there is plenty to see and do in this charming town.
Day 4 – We have a half-day excursion to Peel, the only city on the Isle of Man. The island’s only cathedral, a large ruin castle in a spectacular setting and a lovely beach and promenade are amongst the places to visit in this delightful city.
Day 5 – We catch the morning ferry home from Douglas to Heysham before continuing the journey back to your departure points. |
